While you can always enjoy the staples that are near southern California beach resorts. Farmers Market
In downtown Carlsbad on State Street every Wednesday night from 3-7pm. They have local produce, specialty food vendors handmade crafts, and live entertainment. With over 45 vendors to visit make an afternoon of it and enjoy the moderate fall weather. It is within walking distance from Carlsbad resorts so no need to worry about parking.
Carlsbad Brewfest
On Saturday, September 7th, enjoy craft beers, music, entertainment, games and food vendors at the 6th Annual Carlsbad Brewfest. In the heart of historical Carlsbad Village at the Holiday Park. There will be over 40 Breweries and Cider Houses. With over 80 craft beers to try along with kombucha and wine. It will prove to be a fun outing for any beer connoisseur. No need to grab an Uber or worry about driving; it is a short walk away from Carlsbad resorts.
ArtWalk Carlsbad
The second annual ArtWalk Carlsbad, September 21st and 22nd showcases fine art, live art being created, live music, and art activities for kids. If you have kids or a kid at heart, there will be chalk artists creating paintings on the asphalt. It is a fun, family-friendly event with plenty of art choices for everyone.
The ArtWalk takes place just above the flower fields on Armada Drive. Kids 16 and under are free. Adults are $10. Afterwards, you can always hit the Carlsbad Outlets for a little shopping or take a tour of the Museum of Making Music. Both are close to the ArtWalk Festival.
Oktoberfest and Family Fall Festival
San Diego’s longest-running Oktoberfest will be held on Saturday, October 5th, at Holiday Park in Carlsbad Village. Within walking distance from Carlsbad resorts, it will be a fun day to enjoy the sunshine. The festival will have costume contests, music, arts and crafts, games, rides and authentic German food.
Admission for children under 10 years old are free. Children 10 and up are $5 and adults $15 in advance $20 at the door which includes admission and a full meal.
Attractions
If you are looking for some exciting adventures besides the festivals, try the air or helicopter tours. Enjoy aerial views of the Coastline, the towns in San Diego, and see Palomar Mountain from a new angle. There are also the Biplane rides where you are in an open cockpit plane with goggles and a helmet while flying over Carlsbad, Oceanside and La Jolla. Depending on the day, you may even see some dolphins or whales swimming in the Pacific.
